Join A Community Weightloss Challenge … and STEP OUT!
What do you mean “Step Out”?
One participant from one of Australian Weightloss’s last challenges is heading to Europe for a great adventure around October this year, and has set her goal to lose over 25kgs before she departs. She is on-track and is about to register in her second weightloss challenge so she stays on-track!
Why is this SO IMPORTANT to her? Because she want to enjoy her trip to the fullest, and be able to walk wherever she wants to, and be the person at the front of the group showing the way; not the one at the back having to be given a hand. At age 72 years she is still very young at heart, and sadly lost her husband and best friend a couple of years back so she has been adjusting to a new way of life.
The support from the community weightloss challenge is great and … so much different to a lot of other activities she is invited to.
Many of the social activities she has been going to involve FOOD!
Last week she went to five lunches with friends, and thank goodness she is able to apply a lot of what she has learnt at the last challenge, to ensure she makes healthy choices and avoids the “killer” foods.
Who do you know that may be interested in joining a Community Weightloss Chellenge? Many of the challenges also have FREE Fit Clubs that operate in conjunction with them. More support, more FUN and amazing value!

Consumer watchdog Choice asks the question, “Are multi-vitamins necessary when someone has a healthy balanced diet?” The obvious answer is no, they probably aren’t.
But, that begs the question straight off the plate as to who ACTUALLY has a healthy balanced diet today?
And WHY do we have an EPIDEMIC of preventable disease in our modern, developed world? Once you have read economist Paul Zane Pilzer’s book “The Wellness Revolution” you understand that food TODAY is not what it was fifty or 100 years ago.
As a personal wellness coach with Herbalife International I have done hundreds of FREE Body Analysis and rarely find a person who actually eats well. With ALL the dietary information and ‘good advice’ on the internet and in the marketplace today telling us how IMPORTANT breakfast is … YOU WOULD THINK everyone would have breakfast, but yet they don’t.
“I don’t have TIME.”
“I don’t feel like eating until later.”
“I hate cereal, and can’t stomach eggs first thing.”
I believe it was quality assurance guru Edwards Demming who said, “People don’t work, systems work.” or something to that effect. As a qualified risk manager and engineer I know exactly what he means. We are simply not designed to do what we know is BEST for us unless it is made very very EASY.
According to Paul Zane Pilzer (author of the New Wellness Revolution)the NEW Wellness Opportunities are only now here.
“The New Wellness Revolution explains why the majority of opportunities in wellness still await the individual entrepreneur or health professional, and how new management techniques and forms of business organization (like direct selling and franchising) can allow such individuals even better technology than if they were part of a large corporation.”
While big companies like Walmart and McDonald’s are doing their part, the majority of sales are expected to be made by individual entrepreneurs and practitioners, especially through the growth of direct selling or network marketing companies. These NEW wellness opportunities are here now and everyone can benefit, personally and professionally.
Even retail outlets and restaurants are playing their part and there is collaboration between many existing retail outlets and practitioners now starting to see the opportunities for better cash-flow and long term wealth by partnering with direct selling organisations.
Another major aspect to the increasing growth of Wellness Opportunities is how rapidly they are being taken up throughout Asia, especially in countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and India.
Especially India is seeing a massive acceleration and growth in NEW wellness opportunities.
Whichever country you live in the opportunities are there for you to get involved and start making a difference to the lives of those around you.
Timing is everything, so they say however the good news is the wellness opportunities are here to stay.
Times are changing more rapidly than you think. In fact ‘change’ is changing more rapidly than most realise … and it is called the acceleration of change. We have left a time when much of our enterprises focused on making sense, and entered a period where it is more important to make more money.
So what is changing, and how does making sense again make more money too?
The way most people see change is in new electronic products such as flat screen TV’s and iPads and in medical procedures but the same change is occurring at an accelerating rate throughout many industries, throughout most countries and now throughout their economies.
The best part is … it has many benefits for the vast majority of us as we shift towards making sense.
Sure, there has also been lots of chaos, and sadly sometimes the loss of innocent lives but the future that is rapidly heading our way has many benefits.
Take Iceland as an example. A very small democratic country of some 330,000 people who, a handful of years ago were faced with financial ruin and bankruptcy. Much of the economic wows of a number of European countries has been splashed around the media for years now, but few of us understand what actually happened?
A group of average guys and girls have started an ABS Challenge over the next 30 days … 23 February to 22 March, and the challenge is to do 5,000 situps or crunches.
Sounds like a lot but it is amazing how easy it is to build up to 200 or so a day.
You don’t need to do them all at once, and make sure you are drinking lots of water to stay hydrated.
What I do is 60 to 100 after my morning yoga and stretching, then I fit in another 40 or 60 late morning, before lunch. Lunch is also a delicious high protein nutritional shake so I’m dropping a few kilos too. That helps.
Here’s the link if you want to join … https://www.facebook.com/events/233762270046700/
Remember to take responsibility for your health and wellbeing too. If you do have a pre-existing back condition or something that may be inflamed by situps get some advice first. Having said that I also recall my physio who is a doctor to one of the league teams recommended I strengthen my ‘core’ a few years ago to help prevent back problems in the future and that’s what I have been doing.
This ABS Crunch Challenge is just a great way to peel off those few extra kilos that aren’t needed, and actually contribute to a higher than necessary visceral fat (dangerous fat, especially for men) and at the same time strengthen my core.
I strongly recommend including the high protein nutritional shakes, two or three times a day if you want to drop a few kilos too.
Have fun …
Have you ever tried to lose those last few (or more than a few) inches or kilograms of extra weight you’re carrying around your waist? It can be harder than you think unless you have a personal trainer like “the commando” or a very very strong willpower.
I used to say “It’s not that important, a few kilos … ” but I know that it is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT.
A 40% INCREASE in Heart Disease is forecast in the next decade, and one in three (1 : 3) people who suffer a heart attack DO NOT GET A SECOND CHANCE!
This “EXTRA FAT” is termed viseral fat …
Visceral fat, lies out of reach, deep within the abdominal cavity, where it pads the spaces between our abdominal organs. Visceral fat has been linked to metabolic disturbances and increased risk for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. In women, it is also associated with breast cancer and the need for gallbladder surgery. — Harvard Medical School, Feb 2007
Someone, like myself who is in the “healthy, or even very healthy weight range” for their age can have a high and alarming viseral fat level … and the chances are YOUR DOCTOR WILL NOT TELL YOU.
So what can you do?
If you need any help and support please contact me as I am on the journey myself and started two days ago. I am using the “Belly Buster Program” to achieve results quickly.

I just read an article in the Melbourne Age suggesting that former Prime Minister John Howard had sought US favor to have charges laid against Australian David Hicks in order to improve Howards re-election chances. I immediately said to my wife “Can this be true? W hat would possess someone to do that?”
How naive am I … it’s greed, greed, greed!
It certainly isn’t reserved for politicians either as another article spoke of mass sackings at Qantas, OneSteel and Westpac while there were massive profits declared by BHP Billiton as the mining industry continues it’s sale into the growing Asian market. Is that the same Asian market that is also contributing enormously to local and global pollution? Yes it is and it is driven by greed, greed, greed and more greed.
Buckminster Fuller is considered by many as one of the most important human beings of the twentieth century. Fuller referred to this characteristic as one of “un-evidend selfishness”. This is where a person or a company appears to be doing the ‘right thing’ and being a generous or good person however the reality is they are really only interested in getting the best result for themselves … and “stuff the rest”.
The video clip above shows a small part of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “Bed Peace” event in Montreal, Canada in 1969, at the same time as technology (ever accelerating change) reached a point for the first time in our human evolution where we could now provide for everyone on Earth at an unprecedented high standard of living … such that there was now no need to compete. What does it take to create a future that actually works, for everyone?
In fact competition is now detrimental to the ongoing survival and success of humanity.
A recent blog on 10billionbillionaires.org titled “How Far ‘Off-Track’ Are We … ?” looks at whether there are any leaders out there willing to declare the sort of future they are committed to creating.
Or are they just reacting to the situations as they occur and as they worsen around them?
Did you know that our Australian Road design regulations and safety standards kill around 1600 people and seriously injure another 22,000 every year, and while the road toll was much higher 30 years ago it has plateaued and is costing a fortune in loss of life, medical and hospital costs and associated grief and trauma counseling.
There is nothing wrong with making mistakes … in fact it is one of the best way to learn, but when we keep making the same mistakes, getting the same result and are not making effective corrections then I would ask the question “what is stopping us making changes?”
We live in ‘engineered environments or domains’, whether you are on land, in or on the water or in the sky, there are serious and sometimes lethal outcomes if you do not comply with the design principles of that environment.
I believe a case could now be put for gross negligence if the responsible parties do not engineer for ‘known’ hazards or risks.
We are living in the ‘twenty first century’, decades after we successfully designed a vehicle to send humans out into space and bring them back to earth safely, which we did very successfully.
It is astounding and almost unbelievable that we have not invested a similar interest in saving thousands of ordinary people’s lives. Only idiots or the ignorant would expect that speed cameras could prevent accidents or save people’s lives.
As a past chairperson of the Road Safety subcommittee of the Risk Engineering Branch of the Institution of Engineers Australia it was obvious to me that no one was looking at the road system as a “whole system”.
How To Lose Weight EASILY and Keep It Off.
I’m currently enjoying my 60th year on planet Earth, but have a basal metabolic age of 18yrs, due very much to my low body fat of 15.5%, regular exercise (I walk and do yoga almost every day) and my hydration is pretty good @ 55.5% … but should still be higher.
It is so EASY and enjoyable to be well … plus the benefits of maintaining a healthy weight are enormous!
One of my doctor friends said that the worst term many doctors use when diagnosing a patient is “... for a person your age.” Sure, age will have measurable affects on the way we perform but often doctors compare you to the ‘norm’ for your age, rather than what you could be like if you knew how easy it was to be well.
A recent US report states that the average American family spends around $12oo a month on health insurance. Not every one can afford $1200 a month and so 50 million American’s have no health insurance and so limited access to health care. In Australia we have a very similar situation developing. These people who miss out are often the very people who need health care the most.
How I Gained 41 years … And How You Can Too!
Last night I had a full body scan done. Ever heard of them?
It tells you just about everything you can think of that is about your body … your height and your weight you usually know but these get ‘plugged in’ to the machine I was standing on. Then I waited a few seconds while a tiny electric current passes around my body, I just love TECHNOLOGY and how easily and quickly it does it’s job.
Then I’m told to “step off the machine” and the operator starts recording MY RESULTS, including my METABOLIC AGE, or how old my body appears to be.
Aging and health care are certainly two of the BIGGEST concerns to individuals and governments alike.
Individuals generally want to stay feeling as young as they can, for as long as they can and governments are having to find more and more money for aged care and hospitals. Part of the problem is that the majority of people simply don’t know how to stay healthy and vital.
If they actually knew HOW SIMPLY IT ACTUALLY IS they would scream!
One of the worst things that can happen as we age is to contract a debilitating disease or to suffer a serious injury, especially if you live in a country such as Australia or the United States with expensive health care. Many people just cannot afford to get sick in these countries, but a rapidly increasing number of people are getting sick.
At a recent medical seminar I attended one doctor described how scientists had now linked 120 preventable diseases to being overweight or obese … and they are finding more and more.
