Everyone Has Habits. How Do You Easily Make Them Healthy Habits That Work?
It is a FACT that every dollar we spend on prevention saves $100 in future expenses … so the more healthy habits you have, the more money you save!
Spend $100 a month on preventative measures like nutrition, fresh foods, a personal trainer or gym membership, a massage or chiropractic care and you could save around $10,000 in future expenses.
That is true, and that is why Nobel Laureate in Medicine Dr Louis Ignarro and naturopath Dr Andrew Myers new book is titled “HEALTH IS WEALTH“
Healthy habits are incredibly important for everyone. The fact is, you either have ‘good habits’ around your health and lifestyle … or you have ‘bad habits’, no one has no habits.
The bad habits will cost you thousands of dollars during your lifetime and will take away much of your enjoyment in life.
And before you say “Yes but I like my beer”, or “I want to enjoy a wine at dinner and desert is something I’d really miss.” … understand that you can have a beer, or a wine … you can even have delicious sticky date pudding with ice-cream, when you have healthy habits that provide balance in your life.
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” – Aristotle
“Just do it”, and create your own set of healthy habits that work for you, in your life.
What I am really good at and love to do is help people improve their health, their fitness and their lifestyle, but it only works if you are coach-able, and you take action.
You may be feeling that you’ve heard this before, or it is ok for some people but not me, and that’s normal. When you take ACTION and follow the steps I outline instead of just going along with your normal habits, you will have MORE ENERGY and your life will start to work the way YOU WANT IT TOO.
AND I keep it very SIMPLE and EASY. 🙂
In fact there are 3 Simple Steps in what I refer to as being “FIT” …
- STEP 1 – Being Full of ENERGY … It is a FACT that 70% of people who visit a doctor complain that they need more energy!
- STEP 2 – Being INTENTIONAL … You already know that you can only ever get what you focus on, and you need to have a clear intention first!
- STEP 3 – Being TEACHABLE … This is in fact the most IMPORTANT step of all, and without it, it really doesn’t matter how much energy you have or how intentional you are, if you are not doing the correct things in the right order and at the right time you will find it very hard to achieve your health and fitness results.
People who spend time around me usually become healthier, and I also think they often feel like they are a better person too. That could be because of the “ripple effect” where they feel so good they go on and help a few people get healthier too.
Could living a healthy active lifestyle be that simple?
YES IT CAN.
My oldest coaching ‘client’ is my dad, now aged 90 years. He doesn’t listen to everything I say; and the GOOD NEWS is at 90 he’s not on the regular array of medications for heart disease, cholesterol, BP, diabetes, gout or anything else.
I know what he’s doing works.
All my clients take some time to review their diets. What you eat can certainly be a healthy habit. Almost immediately they start feeling different, more energy and vitality, waking up sharper and sleeping better.
I have no formal qualifications in health or nutrition, nor do I have a personal training qualification. What I do have is a Basal Metabolic Age (BMA) almost 30 years younger than my biological age.
As you saw above, Aristotle knew 300 years before Christ, that excellence is all about developing GOOD HABITS, and we are all creating “habits” everyday.
Habits take around 60 days or longer to form. I used to think we could create a new habit in just 30 days but the latest neuroscience shows it takes much longer … and if we are not diligent can easily revert into our old habits.
In the area of your lifestyle, the habits you create will either help you become healthier and happier, less stressed and more satisfied even, or they will make you less healthy, stressed and unhappy.
You can create healthy habits just as easily as creating unhealthy habits, AND as a major benefit you will actually save money too. Remember, every dollar you invest in prevention will save you (or our society) up to $100 of future costs.
In fact world renowned economist Paul Zane Pilzer said that if you invest around $5,000 a year focusing on being well rather than letting yourself become sick, and then using the same money to treat your sicknesses you will have over one million dollars extra in the bank after twenty years (as an adult).
“Hello wellness … hello wealth.”
The alternative, creating bad habits that lead to dis-ease … is very expensive, and here in Australia I heard today that 208 Australians are diagnosed with diabetes everyday now, and it is increasing. Over 1.2 million Aussies are suffering from diabetes and that means they also have heart disease and other complications.
As you will see creating a few good habits is EASY …
